Michael Musheno (San Francisco State Univ., author with Susan Ross of "Deployed: How Reservists Bear the Burden of Iraq"-- Univ. of Michigan Press 2008), Peter Andreas (Brown University, "Policing the Globe:  Criminalization and Crime Control in International Relations"), Ray Novaco (PSB, UCI, talk titled "Combat-Related PTSD and Emotion Dysregulation") and Carol Burke (UCI English, her talk is "Combat Ethnography"), with Deborah Avant (UCI International Studies and Political Science) as moderator.

March 6 (SE I 112)- RIGS Research Seminar
(10:00-11:00) Graduate Student Breakfast with Panelists.
(12:00-2:00) Reading discussion featuring papers by Michael Musheno and Peter Andreas.  The purpose of this discussion is to enable us to engage with Professors Musheno and Andreas around other aspects of their work.  We will be discussing Professor Musheno's "Reinterpreting the October Incident: The Institutional Conditioning of Youth Conflict in a Multiethnic High School" (co-authored by Calvin Morrill and Michael Musheno with Cynthia Bejarano, Christine Yalda and Madelaine Adelman) and Peter Andreas's "Number Games: The Politics of (Mis) measuring Illicit Flows and Policy Effectiveness", with Morgan Kronberger (Political Science) as discussant.
