The University of California, Irvine is hosting the Sixth West Coast Law & Society Retreat on February 26-27, 2016. More than 150 law and society scholars affiliated with West Coast U.S. and Canadian institutions have registered to attend. The Retreat has been made possible by the generous support of James Peterson/Microsemi Corporation and UC Irvine's Office of Research, Department of Criminology, Law and Society, School of Law, School of Social Ecology, and School of Social Sciences. The Retreat will continue the Law & Society community's effort to cultivate research, conversation and engagement on a range of issues that affect our scholarship, teaching and service. Registration is now closed. Please see the WCLSR Schedule for specific program details about the sessions.
The retreat begins at the Hotel Irvine on Friday afternoon, February 26, at 4:30 p.m., with an opening plenary and informal dinner reception. Self-parking is available at the hotel. Saturday's activities will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the law school on the UC Irvine campus (see map). For those of you driving to campus, parking is in the Social Science Parking Structure, off of Campus Drive at Stanford Avenue.
The deadline for the conference rate at the Hotel Irvine has now passed. We may still be able to secure a room for you at the conference rate, if you need accomodations. Please contact Mona Lynch if you need assistance.
